Route

 Drive on the Inntalautobahn A12 / E60 until exit 39 Zillertal/Achensee-Wiesing. You drive through the Zillertal at the Zillertaler Bundesstraße B 169 in the direction of Mayrhofen until the centre of Ramsau. In Ramsau at the trafficlight you go to the right, cross the railway to the next crossing. Right again, along and below the church in the direction of the sign "Höhenstraße / Schwendberg". Than left onto the Höhenstraße in direction Schwendberg, after the fourth hairpin-bend (approx. 2,0 km), when leaving a short section of forest trees, you take a sharp right turn onto the small residents road "Spielleiten" and drive to our house, which is the first at the right side.

Traveladvice

Austria is a "Schengen-country". Nevertheless make sure you are travelling with a valid passport or ID card. Your Travellers Cheques are exchangeable at the banks and post offices. Hippach has bank and post offices and so does Mayrhofen. Both villages have numerous ATM-machines as well. The acceptance of Credit Cards varies from place to place. Note that banks and post offices are closed on Saturdays.

Autobahnvignet

In Austria you have to buy acces to the motorways with a special ‘autobahnvignet’ You can buy these vignets at the border. Prices depend on the length of your stay. A 10-day vignet costs approx. € 10

Winterequipment for the car

In the winter it is essential that your car is well equipped for the winter conditions (winter tyres and snow chains). We recommend to try at home how the snow-chains are mounted, so you will already know how to do this when it becomes necessary.
